The UK is set to endure more severe weather following a cold snap that brought snow, ice, and freezing temperatures across large parts of the country.
After an unusually warm and dry start to November, Storm Claudia and a week of icy conditions have left the nation bracing for further disruption.
Forecasters warn that strong winds of up to 50mph will sweep across parts of the country on Sunday, accompanied by heavy showers. Weather maps are already showing blue, yellow, and orange alerts as low-pressure systems batter affected regions.
While gusts of around 30mph are expected in the Midlands, southern parts of the UK are likely to feel the full force. Southern Wales could experience 30mph winds, London around 25mph, and Devon is forecast to bear the brunt, with Plymouth potentially seeing gusts reach 50mph.
Despite slightly warmer air temperatures this weekend compared to the past few days, the strong winds will make it feel bitterly cold outdoors.
Meteorologists warn that showers will be heaviest across the Midlands and will linger, turning the weekend dreary and unsettled.
Residents are advised to take care on the roads, secure loose items, and prepare for blustery conditions that could disrupt travel before winter officially begins.
