Thousands of pro-independence supporters are expected to gather in Glasgow city centre today as a large-scale demonstration in support of Scottish independence gets underway.
The event, organised by campaign group All Under One Banner, is anticipated to draw around 5,000 participants.
Marchers will set off from Kelvin Way in the city’s West End at 11:30 am, proceeding along a prominent route through the heart of Glasgow before culminating at Glasgow Green.
The march will travel through key thoroughfares, including Gibson Street, Woodlands Road, Sauchiehall Street, Blythswood Street, Blythswood Square, West George Street, Nelson Mandela Place, George Square, George Street, High Street, and Saltmarket.
Demonstrators have been encouraged to bring banners, placards, megaphones, flags, bagpipes, and drums to create a vibrant and vocal display of support for Scotland’s independence movement.
The rally is also set to receive support from the Yes Bikers, a pro-independence motorcycle group who plan to leave Bargeddie at 12:15pm and join the demonstration at Glasgow Green.
Significant disruption is expected across the city centre throughout the busy Saturday afternoon, with motorists advised to avoid the march route and plan alternative travel arrangements.
Today’s event forms part of an ongoing series of major independence rallies held across Scotland in recent years, reflecting continued momentum and public engagement in the country’s constitutional debate.
