Frome Community College in Somerset was evacuated on Thursday morning following a threatening phone call that falsely claimed a bomb had been planted on the school premises.
The anonymous call was made around 8:30am, prompting staff to alert Avon and Somerset Police. Emergency protocols were swiftly activated, and the entire school was evacuated to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Police conducted a thorough search of the site and confirmed that no suspicious items were found. Authorities later classified the threat as a hoax, labelling the call as malicious in nature.
At the time of the evacuation, students were informed that the disruption was due to a gas leak. The school resumed normal activities once police confirmed the premises were secure.
In a public update, the college acknowledged the incident and reassured the community that safety procedures had been followed. The matter is now under investigation by the relevant authorities.
