A McDonald’s branch in Edinburgh has introduced a ban on unaccompanied under-16s in response to ongoing issues with anti-social behaviour in the area.
The fast food outlet, located at Corstorphine Retail Park, now requires anyone under the age of 16 to be accompanied by an adult.
The decision aims to improve safety and reduce disruptive behaviour both in the restaurant and its surrounding area.
A spokesperson for McDonald’s explained that the measure was put in place to prioritise the wellbeing of customers and staff, noting that the restaurant is actively working alongside Police Scotland and other local businesses to address wider concerns.
The company stated that the move was carefully considered and forms part of broader efforts to create a safer and more welcoming environment for all visitors.
It follows a series of incidents linked to anti-social activity in and around the retail park.
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment regarding the policy change.
