Three people have died following a devastating house fire in the village of Rushton, near Kettering, Northamptonshire.
Emergency services were called to the blaze at the former station house on Beswick Close at around 10:30 pm on Friday.
Firefighters, police, and paramedics rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, three individuals lost their lives. Three police officers were also taken to the hospital for assessment after inhaling smoke.
Authorities have launched a fire investigation to determine the cause of the tragedy. Emergency services remain at the scene, with road closures in place as firefighters continue their work. Drivers have been advised to avoid the area.
The fire has also disrupted train services, as the property is located near the railway line between Kettering and Market Harborough. Passengers travelling between Sheffield and London St Pancras have experienced delays. Network Rail expects services to return to normal by 3 pm.
