The UK Government has announced a £2.65 billion investment over the next two years to enhance flood protection across the country.
This funding will support the construction and repair of over 1,000 flood defence schemes, helping to safeguard homes, businesses, and communities from the increasing risk of flooding.
As part of the initiative, £430 million will be allocated this year for the construction of new flood schemes, while an additional £220 million will be used to restore existing defences to full operational capacity.
