Former Norwich City academy player Devonte Aransibia has passed away at the age of 26.
His death was confirmed by both Norwich City, where he played until 2019, and Maidstone United, the club he had been with since May 2023.
The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Maidstone United expressed deep sadness over his passing, acknowledging his impact both on and off the pitch.
The club also stated that their management team would pay tribute in due course while supporting the players affected by his loss.
A GoFundMe page has been launched to support Aransibia’s family, raising over £10,900 so far. He has been remembered as a loving partner, devoted father, cherished son, and dear friend.
Those who knew him described him as kind-hearted, with an infectious smile and generous spirit that left a lasting impression.
Aransibia joined Norwich City’s academy in 2013 and progressed through the youth ranks before leaving the club.
After his departure, he played for several non-league teams, including Chelmsford, Welling, and Royston Town.
Norwich City has announced a period of applause in his memory before their Sky Bet Championship match against Preston North End, with all staff wearing black armbands as a mark of respect.
Maidstone United will also hold a minute’s silence before their game against Aveley on Tuesday evening.
