Three individuals sustained injuries after being assaulted during an aggravated burglary in Enniskillen, with police now appealing for any further information.
On Saturday at about 21:00 GMT, police received a report of an aggravated burglary at a property in the Cavandale area of Enniskillen.
According to reports, the assailant, armed with either a hammer or an iron bar, forced his way into the home.
When the front door was opened, he struck the male occupant on the head before proceeding to assault two other occupants—a man and a woman—inside the house.
After the violent entry and subsequent assaults, the perpetrator left the property and vandalised a car parked outside, breaking several windows before fleeing the scene.
The suspect is described as being around 5’8″ tall, of slim build, with very short hair and a clean-shaven face. Witnesses noted that he was wearing dark clothing and a snood at the time of the incident.
Local police are currently investigating the incident and have issued an appeal for anyone with information to come forward. Detectives are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and urging local residents to report any details that could aid in the swift apprehension of the offender.
Enniskillen, a town in County Fermanagh, is known for its rich history and scenic landscapes. However, like many communities, it is not immune to crime. Aggravated burglary, where the perpetrator uses or threatens violence, has been an increasing concern in various parts of Northern Ireland.
Such incidents not only jeopardise the safety of residents but also impact the overall sense of security within local communities.
In recent years, law enforcement agencies across the region have stepped up efforts to combat violent crime, particularly in residential areas.
The local police force has implemented various community safety initiatives aimed at reducing burglaries and ensuring the well-being of local residents.
